Store Opening Postponed.
I had planned to open a store where we would provide affiliate links to all of the components referenced in our posts and writeups. Then I realized that putting together a sister site on a sub domain containing less than a dozen affiliate links to components that generally cost less than $5 is a tremendous waste of both time and resources.
Introducing the Resource Library!
So, for the time being on https://store.diygamecontrollers.win I’ve decided to create a resource library consisting of RSS feeds from some of the best tutorials, technical specification breakdowns, hardware hacks, how-to’s, and other useful topics from all over the web.
Some of these were subjects that I have wanted to cover but don’t realistically see myself getting to in any reasonable amount of time. Others are topics that are covered so well I don’t feel that I have anything meaningful to contribute to the subject. Yet others are things that while interesting and impressive would be out of place here.
To begin with the library will be populated almost exclusively by old Hackaday posts, — I’ve always referred to this site as “kinda like Hackaday, only useful.” so it seems fitting — Plus, they are kind enough to put their content out in syndication for all of us to organize and reuse as we see fit.
Front Page Redesign
I’m unhappy with the way the front page of the blog looks currently on desktop. On mobile it looks fine but on the PC in a browser it looks too busy and repeats itself too often. I like this theme so I’m hoping to shuffle some things around and make it look a little less like somebody binged themselves on GitHub and Instructables then decided to purge all over our front page. There shouldn’t be any downtime but if everything looks funny or different for a brief period of time nobody panic okay?
